Our patented molded pulp void form is made from 100% recycled waste paper. Reliable Void Forms are much stronger than current boxes used to create void space under the concrete slab during the placement and curing process when dry and especially when wet. Reliable Void Forms become slowly weaker over time as moisture is naturally absorbed into the form and additionally the design allows the soil to expand into the form.
DON'T LET RAIN STOP YOUR WORK!
With over 30 years of concrete foundation design and installation experience we are very familiar with the problems associated with expansive soils. The American Society of Civil Engineers estimates that 1 out of 4 homes in the United States has some damage caused by expansive soils. In a typical year in the United States expansive soils cause a greater financial loss to property owners than earthquakes, floods, hurricanes and tornadoes combined.
The best way to protect a concrete foundation from expansive soil is to create a void space between the soil and the slab. Excavation and soil replacement is expensive, time consuming and still risky in expansive soil regions. Traditional box forms will not perform when wet. Replacement of wet or damaged boxes is at the contractor’s expense. Concrete finished on the collapsed boxes leads to problems for everyone. Construction delays to wait for dry conditions is costly for contractors, employees, owners, everyone.
The application is simple. Just drop them side by side and break them to fit around shapes as needed. You can cover an entire foundation plan with this one simple form. No need for customized complicated shapes or a complicated layout plan. Install your hardboard, poly film (or vapor barrier) and rebar as normal.
Even the storage and handling is simple. The Reliable Void Forms are designed to nest efficiently in a stack, easy to handle and requires minimal storage space.
